Non-GMO Project

Since its beginning nearly 100 years ago, PNW Co-op has been committed to growing foods that contain no genetically-modified organisms, also known as GMOs.

“We know there is a real and growing concern about the food we eat and the methods under which those foods are grown and handled,” says Bill Newbry, chief executive officer of PNW Co-op. “We select the food products we grow as carefully as we select food for our own familes.”

Davidson Commodities also has a lifelong history of marketing Non-GMO foods. Why? Because we believe you have a right to know how your food is grown and what’s in it.

According to the USDA, “in 2009, 93% of soy, 93% of cotton, and 86% of corn grown in the U.S. were GMO. It is estimated that over 90% of canola grown is GMO, and there are also commercially produced GM varieties of sugar beets, squash and Hawaiian Papaya. As a result, it is estimated that GMOs are now present in more than 80% of packaged products in the average U.S. or Canadian grocery store.”

We believe that you deserve to know if your foods contain GMOs. That’s why all of our PNW Co-op Specialty Foods and Mighty Mustard® cover crop seed are verified by the Non-GMO Project. This verification assures you that PNW Co-op’s products are guaranteed to be Non-GMO. In fact, PNW Co-op underwent independent, third-party audits to earn Non-GMO Project verification.
